Job Description

We are looking for a full-time (on-site) Project Manager with Traffic and ITS Design experience who can provide engineering services for the following areas of traffic engineering: Preparation of PS&E including traffic signal, signing, and pavement marking, Illumination and ITS design; ITS planning and design; intersection design and analysis.

 

Responsibilities

• Develop plans and specifications, and estimates for traffic signals, ITS equipment, and illumination
• Supervise Project Engineers, EITs, and CAD technicians
• Schedule work for all team members
• Mentor younger staff
• Report to the department manager and works closely with all project disciplines
• Manage project design schedules, budgets and scope
• Responsible for project quality control. Involved with planning, design, and construction phases of projects
• Coordinate with the client and is responsible for meeting client schedules and budgets
• Coordinate with local office and firm management to set, manage, and achieve specific office and firm goals
• Assist and sometimes lead business development efforts to identify, pursue and win new work for the office and firm as a whole

 

Minimum Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
• 8-12 years of project experience in the field of traffic design/ITS Engineering
• Demonstrated project management experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas, or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in MicroStation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Able to lead and manage multiple traffic design/ITS projects

 

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experience in OpenRoads
• Precertification in TxDOT work categories
• Local DFW project experience
