Civil Engineering Project Manager

Founded in 1996 in Houston, Texas, OTHON Engineering is a multi-discipline civil engineering firm. We provide a full
range of design services in roads and highways, bridges and structural engineering, high speed rail systems, pumping
and drainage networks, airports, municipal infrastructure, intelligent transportation systems, construction management
services for all levels of government agencies as well as private developers. We are seeking a candidate for a Civil
Engineering Project Manager position in our Richardson, Texas office. This position is in the Transportation Division.

 

Job Description

  • Develops schematics, plans, specifications, cost estimates, studies and reports
  • Supervises Project Engineers, EITs, and CAD technicians
  • Schedules work for all team members
  • Mentors younger staff
  • Coordinates and works closely with all project disciplines
  • Manages project design schedules, budgets and scope
  • Responsible for project quality control. Involved with planning, design and construction phases of projects
  • Coordinates with the client and is responsible for meeting client schedules and budgets
  • Coordinates with local office and firm management to set, manage, and achieve specific office and firm goals
  • Assists and sometimes leads business development efforts to identify, pursue and win new work for the office and
    firm as a whole

This position requires self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team in order to
work toward common goals in serving our clients. This position may include, but is not limited to, providing engineering
services for the following areas of design:

  • Roadway
  • Drainage
  • Toll Facilities
  • Intersection Improvements
  • Pedestrian Facilities
  • Erosion Control
  • Traffic Control
  • Signing
  • Pavement Markings
  • Retaining Walls

 

Minimum Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • 8-15 years of experience designing and managing transportation projects
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas, or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and Geopak
  • A strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Able to lead and manage transportation projects and junior staff

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in Geopak Drainage, OpenRoads SUDA, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS
  • Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
  • Precertification in TxDOT work categories
  • Design-build experience
