Job Description

Accounting Assistant with 1-3 years of experience for immediate full-time employment in the Houston office.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review employee expense reports monthly and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Monitor accounts payables and accounts receivable and maintain recurring payment schedule
  • Review daily bank reconciliation and prepare bank deposits / payments as needed
  • Maintain electronic vendor files up to date
  • Assist with collections (if needed)
  • Under supervision, prepare client invoices and assist Project Managers as required
  • Provide support to other team members as needed


Minimum Skills and Experience

  • Associates degree with 1+ year of relevant experience
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Problem-solving thinking, solution-based and can-do attitude
  • Effective time and tasks management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong commitment to self-development and continuous learning


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with business accounting software (Deltek Ajera is a plus)
  • Experience working in an A/E firm is a plus but not a requirement
